Saturn Opposition August 14, 2022 ⬅︎
On Aug 14, Saturn will reach opposition in earth's sky. This means:
* Saturn and the sun are 180° apart -- on opposite sides -- in Earth's sky.
* Saturn is roughly at its closest to Earth as Earth passes Saturn in its faster, inner orbit.
* Saturn appears larger and brighter than at any other time.
* Saturn rises in the east about the same time that the sun sets in the west.
* Saturn is visible all night long.
* This is an excellent time to view Saturn in a telescope, but, the weeks before and after are also very good.
